Henderson Police Union, Target and Emerald Island team up for Dec. 6 event to assist families by providing gifts for children
The Henderson Police Officers’ Association Charitable Foundation (HPOACF), in cooperation with Target, held their annual “Shop With A Cop” event on Saturday, Dec. 6 at a local Target store to help families in need by providing gifts for children. This year, Emerald Island also sponsored the event.
For the event, 100 Henderson police officers each partnered with a child, selected by the Clark County School District, to take on a $150 shopping trip and to see Santa.
“This is something the children look forward to,” said HPOA vice president Ken Kerby. “We do this to give back to the families that we serve here in Henderson, and to make their holiday season something to remember. We would like to thank our sponsors and the schools who help us make ‘Shop With A Cop’ a success each year.”
The HPOA Charitable Foundation holds the event every year during the holiday season, and many families in the Henderson community have come to look forward to it. Complimentary food and beverages were also provided to all attendees.
